A cow with tits the size of prize melons just winked at me. Not a metaphor, not a dream, the actual pixelated heifer blinked one big anime eye and I swear the udder jiggled in a way that felt personal. This is the farm now. Forget the pastoral fantasy of gentle hay bales and rooster crows, here the livestock have needs and the protagonist, some kind of desperate rancher with a permanent sweat drop, is the only one who can, uh, service the accounts. The whole thing runs on a rhythm of clicking and waiting, a loop of planting seeds and then planting... other things. The art looks like it was drawn during an earthquake, all wobbly lines and anatomy that defies both gravity and good sense, but that’s the charm, I guess. Or it’s just broken. Hard to tell.
The core loop is a mess of timers. You click a chicken, a bar fills, something vaguely egg shaped and moist pops out, and you sell it to upgrade the barn so the sheep girl’s affection meter rises faster. The sheep girl. She has wool in places that make a man question his rural upbringing. There’s a whole breeding chart that’s less about genetics and more about unlocking increasingly absurd positions with creatures that are half woman, half farm animal, and entirely too enthusiastic. The sound design is a crime. A single wet slap noise on repeat, like someone dropping a fish on a tile floor, plays over every single interaction. It loops. It never stops. I started hearing it when the browser tab was closed, a phantom squelch in the silence of my own room.
Wished there was more to do with the actual crops. The tomatoes just sit there, judgmental and fully rendered, while a dog girl with three tails is bent over a fence post in the background. Priorities. The game forgets it’s a farm sim for long stretches, becoming a clicker where the only harvest is a cascade of low resolution fluids. The bull man doesn’t even look like a bull, more like a bodybuilder who lost a bet and has to wear a novelty headband with horns. A minor detail, but it irks me. The whole thing feels like a fever dream had a budget of zero dollars and a direct line to my basest impulses. Dare to play it alone, or invite company?
