I keep thinking about the way Charlie’s wings sort of flutter when she’s pretending not to be interested. That’s the thing with this whole setup, it’s not really about the minigames, they’re just like... busywork for your hands while your brain is somewhere else entirely. The clicking, the timing, it’s whatever. You’re just tapping along, waiting for the next bit of dialogue to pop up because honestly that’s where the real mess is.
And what a mess. These angels, right, they’ve got this whole dynamic that feels like a therapy session nobody asked for but everyone desperately needs. Charly is so aggressively into it, zero chill, which makes Charlie’s whole “oh this is just a physical necessity” routine even funnier. She’s literally glowing with divine light but she can’t just say she wants to get railed. The cognitive dissonance is the whole point. There’s a moment where you have to do this stupid little rhythm game to, I don’t know, align their chakras or whatever, and if you fuck it up Charlie makes this disappointed little sound that I think about more than I should. I wish the fail states were longer. I wanted to fail on purpose.
My advice for future degenerates is to ignore the score entirely. Just let the bar drop. Watch what happens when you don’t give Charly what she wants immediately, she gets this desperate edge that the polished success animations don’t capture. The whole thing is so unpolished it wraps back around to feeling intimate, like you found someone’s private sketchbook. The threesome mechanics, if you can even call them that, are mostly just swapping between which blonde you’re paying attention to, and the game gets jealous for them. It’s clumsy and the transitions are janky. I loved it. Lucy Liu’s absence is a crime though, why even call them angels if you’re not going to commit to the bit, but whatever, Charlie’s nervous laugh during the close up scenes fixed something in me I think.
