That art style. It’s the first thing that hits you, and not in a good way. It’s like someone traced over a bunch of different comics from different decades and then forgot to smooth out the lines. One panel looks like a faded newspaper strip from the 50s, all thick inks and weird cross-hatching on a guy’s jacket, and the next panel is this clean, flat digital thing where the same guy’s face has completely changed shape. It’s jarring. I spent way too long staring at a close-up of a hand that had like, seven fingers, during what was supposed to be a hot scene. The whole 1958 versus modern times plot is just a flimsy excuse to jump between these two clashing visual styles, and the transitions are so abrupt you’ll get whiplash.
The core loop is picking dialogue choices in a visual novel style, then hitting these weird little minigames. One is basically a quick-time event where you click on a present to unwrap it, and if you’re too slow, the girl just... leaves? In another you’re awkwardly rubbing the screen to polish a bauble. It’s not exactly challenging, more like a fumble in the dark. The “surprise” tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting because the sexual adventures mostly involve someone suddenly getting naked with zero buildup. A delivery guy shows up, you pick the “right” answer from two options that are almost identical, and suddenly there’s a dick out. It’s like a jump scare but for porn. The writing is this stilted, non-native English that somehow makes the dirty talk sound like a confused instruction manual. “I am wanting your Christmas log” is an actual line, and I think about it more than I should.
The whole thing feels like a half-finished Flash game you’d find on a forgotten corner of Newgrounds, but with less charm. The eroticism is so abrupt it circles back to being funny, but I’m not sure the humor is intentional. You’ll be clicking through a conversation about eggnog, fail a minigame because the hitbox is pure fantasy, and then boom, a graphic close-up that feels completely disconnected from the stiff, poorly-drawn characters you were just looking at. It doesn’t balance humor and horniness so much as it just drops both on the floor and lets them mix. The interactive parts are so barebones they might as well not be there, just a thin layer of clicking between you and the next awkwardly framed sexual surprise. It’s a mess, a fascinating, sometimes hilarious mess that I can’t really recommend but also can’t stop thinking about.
