I keep clicking through the same dialogue tree for the fifth time and honestly I don't know why. Something about the way the blonde's bikini top catches the pixel light. The game doesn't look good. Deliberately rough edges, like someone drew it on a napkin during a boring meeting. Which is where I am right now, actually, phone hidden behind my monitor, pretending to read quarterly reports while this island girl keeps asking me to gather coconuts.
The writing is translated. You can tell. Sentences hit wrong sometimes, grammar slips sideways, but there's this weird charm to it. Like finding a dirty magazine in a language you half understand. Seven endings apparently. I've found three so far and one of them involved a scene with her bent over a fallen palm tree that I definitely wasn't expecting from the art style. The gallery fills up slowly. Too slowly. I keep hitting skip on accident and then the game punishes you for it, locks content behind actually reading the text. Which is a choice. For an adult visual novel that looks like this.
Crusoe retelling but horny. She's the only character really. Just you, her, the island, and increasingly explicit scenarios that the game doesn't ease you into at all. One minute you're talking about shelter, next minute her bikini bottoms are gone and the dialogue gets very specific about what she wants. The contrast between the amateur art and the absolutely filthy writing is doing something to my brain. I wish there was a way to just unlock the gallery without the busywork but there isn't and I respect that while also hating it. The coconut gathering minigame is pointless. I keep doing it anyway. My boss walked by earlier and I had to pretend I was checking email while this cartoon woman moaned about how hard I was making her nipples. This is my life now. The game doesn't care if you're ready. It just keeps going.
