There's a very specific feeling when a game doesn't even pretend to be more than it is. Max's game is exactly that, a strip quest with a real model, a brunette teen who's supposedly been studying hard. The setup is she's waiting for her girlfriend. The gameplay is you click through her getting increasingly naked. I kept clicking just to see if the camera would ever zoom out properly. It doesn't.
The model is cute in that amateur way, the kind of "erotic" content that feels like it was filmed in someone's actual dorm room. No airbrushed perfection, which I appreciate. But the video loops are stiff, the transitions between clothing states are jarring like someone's flipping through a photo album too fast. And that one bra clip seems to defy physics. I've spent way too long thinking about how it attaches. Still can't figure it out.
What stays with me is her expression in the final few clips. There's this half-smile that's supposed to be coy but comes across as distracted, like she's thinking about the laundry she forgot in the machine down the hall. Or maybe that's just me projecting. A therapist would have a field day with the "waiting for girlfriend" premise. Is the player the substitute? A voyeur? The entire tension is built on delayed gratification that you, the player, are interrupting. She's performing for someone else in the narrative, and you're just... there. It's a weirdly honest metaphor for most porn consumption, really.
The quest structure is barebones. Click spot, see video. Repeat. There's no fail state. No branching. You could probably code this in a fever dream after watching too many late-night Cinemax softcore flicks. It doesn't crash, though, which is something. The video quality is passable on a phone screen. On a monitor, it falls apart into compression artifacts. Just like the fantasy itself, if you squint too hard.
