The ball physics feel wrong. Not broken wrong, just... floaty. Like kicking a balloon around. But that's not really the point here, is it. The point is the redhead on the sidelines. She starts in a full cheerleader uniform, all pleats and pom poms, doing that little bounce thing. I missed my first three shots completely because I was watching her skirt.
The whole setup is basic. You get a free kick from just outside the box, over and over. The keeper is terrible, honestly. He dives like he's falling into a pool. Score a goal and the cheerleader loses something. First the top. Then the skirt. The strip mechanic is tied directly to your streak, so if you bottle it and hit the post, she just stands there. Waiting. Judging you with those pixelated eyes. I got stuck on four goals for ages because my finger slipped on the trackpad. My macbook air was burning my thighs through my jeans. The tension isn't from the soccer, it's from the anticipation of the next reveal. The uniform comes off in stages, and the animation for the final piece is... well, it's a loop. A short one. Her chest moves in a way that defies anatomy, like two water balloons fighting.
I wish the crowd noise wasn't just one compressed WAV file on repeat. It drills into your skull after a few minutes. And why is the pitch so green? It's aggressively green. Like, hurting my eyes green. The developer clearly spent all their time on the cheerleader model and just slapped together the football part. Which, fair enough. The redhead's hair clips through her shoulders sometimes when she celebrates. I don't know why I noticed that. But I did. The whole thing is this weird loop of scoring, watching, missing because I'm distracted, then getting frustrated at the janky shooting meter. It's not a game you play for the sport. You play it to see what happens when you finally hit five in a row. And then you close the tab and wonder why your room is so quiet.
