The pumpkin tits are what got me. Not the dialogue, which reads like it was translated through a blender, or the fact that the main character's face looks like a melted candle. No, it's the jack-o-lantern pasties on the stripper during the Halloween minigame. They glow. Actually glow. I sat there clicking through the rhythm section, trying to match her moves, and I couldn't stop laughing. The game calls it a striptease but it's more like a confused aerobics routine set to royalty-free spooky music. You're supposed to be this depressed guy who doesn't want to party but also doesn't want to be alone, which is relatable I guess, but then a witch shows up and things get weird.

The sex scenes unlock after you beat the minigames. I think. The UI is a disaster, buttons overlapping, text running off the screen. There's this one moment where the hentai art actually looks decent, a close-up that almost made me forget the earlier shot where her arm bent backwards. Almost. The humor is unintentional mostly. The writing has this broken English charm, like "he don't want to spend this night alone" is the actual plot and they just ran with it. I respect that. No pretension. Just horny Halloween nonsense.

What if they added a DLC where you can customize the pumpkins. Different sizes, different glow colors. Maybe a ghost that judges your performance in the minigame. The strip club setting is barely used, just a background image that repeats. I wanted more of that seedy atmosphere but the game forgets where it is halfway through. The witch character has one expression. One. Through the entire thing. She's supposed to be seductive but she looks like she's reading a terms of service agreement. Still, I kept playing. The minigame is weirdly addictive once you accept the jank. The timing is off, the prompts don't match the beat, but there's something hypnotic about failing over and over while that glowing pumpkin chest jiggles. I never figured out if there's a reward for perfect scores. Maybe nothing. Maybe that's the point. The hero's apathy infects everything, even the game design. I'm still thinking about those pumpkins though.
