The sleep instead of faint mechanic is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, and I respect that. Episode 16 drops you into eight new areas with eight new Pussymon, and the side quest only triggers if you actually rest, which is such a weirdly specific gate that I almost missed it entirely. Almost. The quest log is cleaner now, and there are ten new animations, six skills, and some interface changes that make the whole thing feel less like a fever dream and more like a game with actual bones.

But the pacing. God. It's like someone threw a party and forgot to invite the guests until hour three. You wander, you grind, you sleep, you wake up, and suddenly there's a side quest with tips that read like a cryptic text from a friend who's bad at directions. The new interactions are fine, the new items are fine, but the story beats arrive like a bus that only stops if you faint in battle. Which is a choice. A deliberate, unpolished choice that I both hate and secretly admire.

The new Pussymon designs are hit or miss. One of them looks like a rejected mascot from a cereal commercial, and another one made me genuinely uncomfortable in a way I can't explain. The animations are smoother than before, but some of them cut off at the worst possible moment, like a sneeze that never comes. If you're here for the explicit stuff, it's there, it's messy, and it's occasionally interrupted by a menu redesign that makes no sense.

Pro tip: don't skip sleeping. Ever. Even if you think you're fine. The game punishes impatience in ways that feel personal. And when you finally get to the new areas, take your time. The best moments are hidden behind the dumbest choices.
