Brooke’s photo set is the whole reason to keep losing. Not the blackjack. The blackjack is rigged. I mean, I’m not a Unity detective for nothing, the RNG seed feels like it was set by a guy who hates you. Dealer pulls 21 with a six showing? Happens. A lot. The card flip animation is this weird, jittery thing, like the developer just lerped the rotation and called it a day. No smooth tweening, just a snap. It’s almost charming how little they cared about the actual game part.
But then Brooke. Blonde, that specific kind of early-2000s digital camera flash photography look. The real model thing, it’s not some hyper-glossy render. You can see the texture of her skin, a little too sharp in places, the lighting a bit flat. She’s got this smirk during the first few hands. You win a round, she peels off a top. The strip logic is basic, just a state machine tied to your chip count. I got stuck for ten minutes because I couldn’t win a single hand to save my life, just watching her stand there in that lacy black thing, waiting. The UI is a crime. Bet buttons are these chunky, unlabeled rectangles. I accidentally went all-in twice. No warning. Just poof, chips gone, back to the default bet. The background is some blurry apartment that looks like a stock photo from a real estate listing.
The sound. There’s a card flip noise that’s way too loud, like someone snapping a plastic ruler on a desk. No voice acting, which is a missed opportunity. You just get silence and that damn snap. I wish there was a way to just unlock the gallery without the card game. But there isn’t. You have to grind through the dealer’s impossible luck. The whole thing feels like a prototype someone built in a weekend after watching a YouTube tutorial on Unity’s canvas system. The photo resolution is inconsistent too. One image is crisp, the next looks upscaled from a thumbnail. It’s a mess. A strangely compelling mess where the technical jank somehow makes the explicit content feel more… tangible? Like finding a forgotten folder on an old hard drive. The dealer just hit 21 again. I’m not even mad. Just tired.
