I keep thinking about that Barthelme story where the narrator builds a scale model of his father's garage, every oil stain and bent nail reproduced with obsessive care, until the model becomes more real than the memory. This darts game does something similar with Brandy. You get a real model, pigtails, tits that look like they'd tip her forward if she sneezed, and a board. The rules are stupid simple. Hit the target, her top comes off a little more. Miss, and she puts something back on, smirking like she knows you're jerking off with your off hand.
The striptease mechanic is the whole thing. There's no plot, no dialogue beyond her occasionally calling you a bad shot. I spent maybe twenty minutes on the first level because I kept aiming for the bullseye and hitting the wire, which resets her progress and makes her laugh. It's not even a real laugh, just a looped audio clip, but it got under my skin. Like failing a QTE in a David Cage game and watching the character die because you couldn't press X fast enough.
The darts feel floaty. Not in a bad way, more like throwing paper airplanes at a dartboard. You can adjust power and angle, but there's no wind or physics weirdness. Just you, Brandy's increasingly bare chest, and the sound of the dart thunking into cork. She has these pigtails that bounce when she claps for you. I don't know why that detail stuck with me.
There's no game over screen. You just keep throwing until you win or close the tab. I wish the miss penalty was harsher, like she'd put on a parka or leave the room entirely. Instead she just re-buttons her shirt and waits. Patient as a saint.
