fuck me sideways this game is a beautiful disaster. the cg hentai scenes are actually hot, like really detailed and the artist knows what they're doing with the angles and expressions. but then you click to advance the dialogue and the text box just... stays there. overlapping the next line. had to reload three times during the first sex scene with that mysterious woman you save, which by the way the setup is so rushed it's almost funny. one second you're an orphan doing whatever, next second boom you're a hero and she's revealing some truth about her identity and your whole life changes. zero buildup. i kinda respect the audacity.

the homelander thing threw me off at first cause i kept thinking about the boys but nah it's just the name of this weird sci-fi fantasy world. there's this one character, some elf looking woman with cybernetic implants, and her dialogue path is completely broken in chapter two. choices don't register. you pick "ask about her past" and the game acts like you said something else entirely. but her cg scene later? worth the headache honestly. the way the artist draws sweat and body fluids is chef's kiss. spent way too long on that one detail while the actual plot about defending the homeland just kinda happens in the background. i still don't know what the main threat is. something about portals maybe? the game mentioned it once and then never again for like an hour of playtime.

visual novel structure is barebones. no skip to next choice option which is criminal when you're trying to see all the branching paths. the sci-fi elements feel stapled onto a generic fantasy setting and the writing switches between surprisingly decent character moments and then absolute nonsense where people explain things nobody asked about. met this merchant guy who talked for ten minutes about trade routes and i zoned out completely. but then the next scene was a threesome with two demon girls and suddenly i'm back in. the game knows what it's selling and doesn't pretend otherwise. just wish the ui wasn't held together with duct tape and prayers. the gallery mode crashes if you try to view more than five images in a row. still gonna finish it though. the art is that good.
