ok so this one is called Alive and right away the menu screen is like, super basic. like someone made it in ms paint. but that's the whole thing, it's supposed to look like that. it's a visual novel about this guy who, uh, wins a vacation? no wait, he's a criminal on the run and he hides out at this resort. or maybe he's just a criminal who goes on vacation. the translation is all over the place, sometimes the text boxes have weird spacing and i'm pretty sure one character's name changed halfway through.

the minigames though. there's this one where you have to click on the girl's... parts... in the right order, and if you mess up she gets mad and you lose affection points or whatever. but the hitboxes are terrible. i clicked directly on her chest and the game thought i was clicking her elbow. made me so frustrated i had to put my phone down for a sec. the cg hentai scenes are actually pretty hot when you finally unlock them, lots of the classic positions and the art has that early 2000s eroge feel, all shiny skin and impossible proportions. my favorite was the poolside scene with the blonde, she's got this expression that's like she's annoyed but also really into it.

oh and there's a part where you have to manage your "suspicion meter" which is never explained. i think it goes up if you talk to the cops too much? but talking to the cops is how you progress the story with the policewoman character. she's got short purple hair and glasses, total kuudere type. the whole thing is a mess but in a charming way, like finding an old hentai dvd in a bargain bin. wish there was a gallery mode though, having to replay the minigames to see the scenes again is a pain. the sound effects are just stock library stuff, that one "boing" noise plays every single time and it's so dumb i laugh every time.
