The writing has these moments of accidental poetry between the clunky translation. “Your father’s bed remembers his shape but not his warmth.” Who talks like that? I screenshotted it. Sent it to a friend who said it sounded like a google translate of a soap opera. He’s not wrong but I keep thinking about it. The multi-lover ending where you somehow keep both the stepmom and the maid happy requires choices so specific I had to look up a guide on some sketchy forum. Worth it though. The final scene with both of them in the master bedroom, the ai struggling so hard with the lighting that everyone looks like ghosts, that’s the kind of broken beauty I’m here for.
