Pico-8 fantasy and a succubus clicker. The whole thing runs on that tiny pretend console, all chunky pixels and a palette that looks like a cursed Game Boy Color memory. Girl Scare doesn't even pretend to be polished, it's proudly janky, and that's where the charm leaks through. You're just some dude and these monster girls keep popping up, and you either hammer the clicker to fight or you hit the flight button like a coward. The flight option is basically edging with extra steps.

The core loop is a panic attack dressed as a minigame. A girl appears, the tension bar fills, and if she scares you, it's game over but also kind of a reward because the lose screen art is the whole point. There's this one succubus with a lazy eye and a smirk that made me fail on purpose three times. Upgrades are bought with whatever score you sc*** together, making your clicks slightly less pathetic. Unlocking new girls is the real grind, and the pixel art for each one is surprisingly readable despite looking like it was drawn on a microwave keypad. The magic theme is just an excuse for glowing effects on their tits.

Spent way too long fixated on the shop menu font. It's like the developer chose the ugliest possible character set and then doubled down. It's almost impossible to read the upgrade descriptions, which might be a feature. The whole thing feels like finding a sticky cartridge under a vending machine, except it's a browser game so that metaphor falls apart immediately. The horror tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting for what's basically a reaction-time test with boobs. The jump scare sound is just a harsh beep that made my cat leave the room.

The minigame structure means you're never really playing, just reacting. Click, click, flight, upgrade, repeat. There's no depth but there's also no pretense of depth. It's a delivery system for lewd pixel art with a gameplay loop thin enough to see through. The succubus designs carry the whole project, and honestly, that's enough.
