You know what actually gets me about this thing. The pixel on Dawn's face right before the whole thing kicks off. It's not even a good pixel, it's just this smudge of eyebrow that somehow reads as pure defeat. Not sad defeat. More like the universe just reminded her she left the stove on, but also the stove is her dignity. I stared at that pixel for way too long. The rest of the scene is happening, you know, the forest background with those flat trees that look like someone discovered the circle tool in MS Paint and never looked back, and I'm still stuck on that one pixel.

The trainer mechanic is there I guess. You lose a pokemon battle and suddenly it's not about the pokemon at all, which honestly feels like the most honest thing any of these games have ever done. Who cares about the creatures when there's a creampie to animate. The clothed sex thing is weirdly specific too. Her top stays on. The panties come off but the skirt just kind of exists in this quantum state of being both there and not there depending on which frame you pause on. I spent five minutes pausing. The dawn lighting is actually doing something though, this orange wash over everything that makes it feel like you're watching something you shouldn't be watching, which I guess is the point. There's this one frame where her expression resets mid animation. Nobody will ever fix this. And somehow that's the most endearing part of the entire experience. The outdoor setting with those weird flat trees and the grass that's just a green smear. It's not trying to be anything other than what it is, which is a delivery mechanism for watching a cartoon girl get railed against a tree because she lost a bet with a yellow rat. I wish the sound design existed. There is none. Just silence and your own breathing and that one pixel.
