The loading screen is a cryopod hissing open, and honestly, that's the most polish you're going to get. Chuck, our hero, looks like he was drawn by someone who learned anatomy from a bootleg manga and then forgot half of it. His jaw could cut glass. The whole thing has this raw, Newgrounds-era energy where you can almost see the artist's hand cramping. It's not janky by accident, it's janky as a texture. A deliberate crust of unpolished lines that makes the whole "property of the United Galactic Federation" thing feel less like a dystopian nightmare and more like a very specific, sticky fanfic you'd find on a forgotten forum.
The core loop is basically a harem collector with a sci-fi skin stretched so thin you can see the tropes pulsing underneath. You click, you read dialogue that sounds like it was translated through three different languages and then back into English by a horny AI, and you unlock scenes. There's a navigator with antennae that twitch and a engineer whose uniform seems to be losing a battle with physics. The sex is explicit in that anatomical, almost clinical way, but the dialogue is pure absurdist poetry. One moment Chuck is mumbling about the sexual revolution, the next a green-skinned officer is explaining reproductive quotas while her clothes just... dissolve. It reminds me of reading de Sade if de Sade was really into cheap alien costumes and had no editor. The "adventure" tag is a lie, by the way. You don't explore space. You explore a series of rooms on a ship where the walls are suspiciously bare.
There's a minigame where you align some rings, I think? It's gone before I can even figure out if I'm winning or losing. I wish the backgrounds had more than just a blinking console light, but they won't be changed now. That's the pact you make with a game like this. The sound design is just a single, looping synth note that drills into your skull until it becomes a mantra. My Discord pinged during a scene with the captain and for a split second the notification sound felt like a narrative choice. A Brechtian alienation effect in a porn game. Chuck's revolution isn't about politics, it's about the sheer, grinding inevitability of his libido, and the game's refusal to be anything other than what it is becomes a kind of virtue. Or maybe I've just been staring at it too long.
