Ok so Mysterious Ways, right. It's this visual novel thing, point and click bits too, and it's about this guy Anon who's got a serious fixation. Every day, same road, same woman. It's not cute. It's the kind of staring that makes your skin crawl. Then one day she doesn't look back and something just snaps in him. The whole thing slides from creepy realism into this weird forest with occult vibes and it's honestly a mess in the best way. The game knows it's about the collapse of restraint, it's right there in the description, and it doesn't let you forget it.

The animated scenes are rough, deliberately unpolished like a sketch that got out of hand. There's a split early on, exploration or encounter. I went encounter first because I'm predictable. And fuck, the power dynamic is the whole point. It's not just vaginal sex, it's this tense, awful negotiation where you're clicking through dialogue options that feel greasy. She's got these sex toys laid out and the whole thing is framed like a ritual, not a hookup. The writing doesn't wink at you. It's uncomfortable. The BDSM undertones aren't there to be hot in a clean way, they're there to make you question why you're still clicking. I wish the point and click investigation path had more actual items to find, it's mostly just clicking on glowy spots and getting text, but that won't change, it's a teaser build.

The male protagonist is a void. He's barely a character, more like a camera with a pulse, and maybe that's the point but it also makes some of the later explicit content feel weirdly disconnected. Like, who am I supposed to be here? The occult symbols are everywhere, and I spent way too long trying to figure out if a specific sigil on a tree was a real thing or just made up. It's probably made up. The animated bits during the sex scenes have this jerky, almost stop motion quality that's honestly more effective than smooth 3D renders would be. It feels wrong. Which fits. The whole thing feels like finding someone's secret folder and not being able to stop scrolling.
