Right, so this game. Starwatch Academy. It's got that thing where the backgrounds are just, like, vaguely sci-fi corridors but they repeat so often you start thinking maybe the architect was a minimalist with a grudge. And the alien designs, some are genuinely weird which is cool but then others are just a woman with a single horn glued on. Professor Vex is a standout though, this tall insectoid creature who communicates through a translator that makes everything sound like a formal complaint. Her scenes are what kept me clicking. There's a moment in her office where the dialog tree branches into something surprisingly tender about exoskeleton sensitivity and I forgot for a second I was in a porn game. Then it got filthy. The way the text describes her mandibles working in tandem with her actual mouth. Fuck. That's the good stuff.

But then there's a human student named Lyra with tits the size of her head and her entire personality is "competitive." The blowjob scene with her in the zero-g chamber should be a highlight, floating around and all that, but the writing is just anatomical play-by-play with no spark. I kept wishing Vex would float through the wall and join in. The game's central choice system about your "graduation path" seems important but honestly I just picked whatever got me more alone time with the non-humanoids. There's a whole subplot about an ancient alien artifact that I completely ignored. Something about a prophecy? Who cares. The headmaster is suspiciously absent for someone running an elite academy, but maybe that's the point.

The sound design. There isn't any. Just dead silence while you click through increasingly depraved scenarios with a sentient gas cloud. That should be awkward but it kind of works, makes it feel more like reading a very specific diary. The art for the gas cloud's "true form" reveal is genuinely unsettling in the best way, all swirling colors and sudden sharp angles. Then the next scene is back to the same three stock corridor backgrounds. It's like the game can't decide if it wants to be a genuine erotic sci-fi exploration or just another hentai slideshow. That contradiction is more compelling than the actual plot about becoming a Starwatch graduate or whatever. I never finished the main story. Kept replaying Vex's route. The end of her arc involves a mating ritual that's described with this clinical detachment that somehow makes it hotter. The game has tags but I don't care about them. Just give me more of the bug professor. Please.
