She’s blonde, obviously, and the whole thing takes place on some grimy street corner that’s supposed to feel public but really just looks like a back alley with bad lighting. The real model thing is weird because her face has that uncanny scanned look, like someone pasted a photo onto a mannequin. I kept staring at her left eyebrow, it doesn’t move. Not once. The striptease is the whole point, she peels things off when you win a hand of blackjack. But the card game itself is so barebones it’s almost insulting. Hit, stand, that’s it. No splits, no double downs, nothing. You’re basically playing a Fisher Price version of 21 while this woman stares through you.

I got stuck on the number nine for like six rounds straight. Just nine after nine after nine. The dealer busted three times in a row and I swear her top came off slower each time, like the game was punishing me for winning. There’s this one animation where she hooks her thumb into her waistband and just... pauses. For a full second. Then the fabric snaps back because the physics engine gave up. I laughed out loud, which I don’t think was the intended reaction. The outdoor setting adds nothing, by the way. A couple of blurry pedestrians walk past in the background but they never react. A woman literally strips to her underwear on a sidewalk and nobody even glances over. Immersion shattered.

The numbers thing is what gets me though. The whole game is called Catch the Jack but the jack barely matters. It’s just another card. I wanted some kind of special animation when you hit 21 with a jack, some payoff for the title, but no. She just does the same bored shimmy. The arcade structure means you’re just looping the same five second scene over and over until you’ve seen everything, which takes maybe ten minutes. Then you’re done. There’s no scoreboard, no high score, no reason to ever touch it again. I guess if you have a very specific thing for blonde real model types and don’t care about gameplay at all, maybe. But the strip part feels more like a loading screen than a reward. I wish the public aspect actually meant something, like risk of getting caught or crowd reactions, but that would require effort the dev clearly didn’t want to spend.
