I keep thinking about that one scene in The Sin Within where Nick first meets the landlady. Not the sex part, that comes later obviously. I mean the moment she opens the door and her eyes do this thing where they scan him up and down like she's already calculating something. The art isn't polished at all, some CGs look like they were sketched on a napkin during lunch break, but that specific expression? The artist understood what they were doing. The whole game runs on that energy really. Nick Harada arrives from some province with a name that sounds like a car model and immediately the corruption mechanics kick in. You've got this kindness meter thing that I still don't fully understand after three routes, and it's supposed to balance against the lust choices but honestly I just kept picking the horny options because the game punishes you less than something like Corruption of Champions does. The magic system is barely there, more of a excuse to have glowing eyes during certain scenes, and the mystery tag is generous considering the plot is basically "find the sins, fuck the sins."

The milf characters though. God. There's this one scene with the teacher character where the dialogue goes completely unhinged in a way that made me put my phone down and just stare at the ceiling for a minute. Not because it was hot exactly, more because the writer clearly had a specific thing and committed to it with the intensity of someone confessing to a crime. The translation has these moments where you can tell the original language was doing something poetic and the english version just gave up and wrote "she moaned loudly" instead. I respect that honestly. Most visual novels try to sound elegant and fail. This one knows it's degenerate from frame one and doesn't pretend otherwise.

The sin corruption scenes are uneven. Wrath was disappointing, just a lot of yelling and one CG that looked traced. But Lust? Lust is where the budget went. Multiple variations depending on your earlier choices, actual branching that matters, and a scene involving a mirror that I won't describe but let's just say the animator understood the assignment. I wish the game remembered it had a mystery plot more consistently instead of dropping it for three hours while you do side content with the neighbor. She's hot though so I didn't mind. The replay value is there if you're into seeing all the corruption states, but some routes feel like the writer ran out of ideas and just repeated the same scene with different dialogue tags. Still better than most patreon funded VNs I've tried this month. At least it finishes what it starts.
