You know that thing where you boot up a game and the first NPC you meet has a portrait that looks like it was drawn on a napkin during a bumpy bus ride? That's the energy here, and honestly it's kind of the point. Geralt, sorry, "the hero," stands there with his sword and this expression like he just remembered he left the oven on. The whole opening village scene is just him walking around asking people if they've seen monsters while the dialogue boxes have more typos than a YouTube comment section. It sets the expectation perfectly: this is going to be janky as hell and it doesn't care.

The quest design is basically "go here, kill that, get reward," but sometimes the reward is a witch who wants to sit on your face. There's this one merchant woman near the swamp area, I spent way too long trying to figure out if her stock refreshes because I kept clicking on her by accident while trying to buy potions. She doesn't sell anything useful, just some herbs and a rusty dagger, but her dialogue changes after you do a certain quest and suddenly she's talking about how lonely she is running the stall all day. The transition is so abrupt it's almost art. One minute you're comparing sword stats, the next her tits are out and the game's like "well, here we go." The sex scenes have this weird rhythm where the text describes something incredibly specific, like the exact way someone's fingers curl, but the visual is just two sprites overlapping while a sound effect that I swear is from a 2004 Flash game plays on loop.

The multiple endings thing is real, I got one where the hero just... leaves? Like, rides off on his horse while some lady yells at him from a tower. No resolution, no credits, just a text box saying "The End" and then the title screen. I laughed for a solid minute. The lesbian tag is mostly for a side quest with two elves in a forest clearing, and the writing there actually tries harder than anywhere else in the game, like the dev had a favorite. The parody elements are so surface level it's almost charming, like someone described The Witcher to a friend who then described it to another friend who then made this game. There's a magic system I never fully understood because the tutorial pop up was in broken English and disappeared before I could read it. Something about signs and mana but I just hit things with the sword mostly. The swamp hag scene will probably stick with me longer than anything from actual RPGs I've played this year, not because it's hot but because her dialogue is so unhinged. She calls you a "meat man" and then the screen fades to black and you hear squelching. What does that mean? I don't know. I don't want to know. I've already started a second playthrough.
