I keep coming back to Kael's route even though I told myself I'd explore the others. There's something about the way he carries himself in the ring, all that controlled violence barely contained, and then outside he's got this dry humor that catches you off guard. The Decision Echo thing means I accidentally flirted with him during a training session three chapters ago and now he keeps bringing it up in front of other fighters, that smug bastard. I didn't even realize the game was tracking that. I thought I was just picking dialogue options for flavor.

The art style isn't what I expected from a game about brutal MMA tournaments. It's got this softness around the edges, especially during the intimate scenes, that makes the muscle definition pop in ways that feel almost too deliberate. Like the artist knew exactly what they were doing with the lighting on Kael's shoulders after a match. Sweat glistening, chest heaving, the whole thing. I wish the other fighters got the same treatment but honestly I haven't spent enough time with them to know. There's this one scene where you're patching him up in the locker room and the tension is so thick you could cut it, and the game just lets it sit there, no rush to resolve it. That's rare in these kinds of visual novels.

Vibrant City as a setting feels underused though. You get these glimpses of a world where MMA is everything, where the tournament structure dominates culture, but then you're stuck in training montages and dialogue trees that don't really explore it. I wanted more of the alternate universe stuff, the slightly more advanced tech they mention in the description. Instead it's mostly just... gyms and arenas. Which is fine for the romance beats, I guess. The otome structure works well enough, and the bara influences on the male fighters are obvious if you know what you're looking at. Thick necks, broad hands, the way they move. There's a lesbian route too but I haven't touched it. Maybe I should. But Kael's arc has this vulnerability underneath the bravado that keeps pulling me back, and the sex scenes don't shy away from explicit detail when they finally happen. The build up is agonizing in the best way.
