The pixel art in Night Angel is rough on purpose, like someone sketched a noir comic in the margins of a phonebook and then decided to animate it. That unpolished look actually fits the whole vibe. You're some kind of detective or fixer in a city that never stops raining, and every choice pulls you deeper into a story about a blonde guy who might be a witness, a suspect, or something else entirely.

The game keeps interrupting its own text with choices, which sounds annoying but works like a weird breathing rhythm. You read a paragraph, click a button, read another. Sometimes the button just says "wait" or "follow him." I spent way too long on one screen where you decide whether to light a cigarette or not. Nothing happens either way. That's not a complaint, just a fact. The anal scenes come out of nowhere, like the story remembers it's supposed to be porn and suddenly there's a close-up of a hole and a cock and the text gets very direct about what's going in where. Then it's back to noir monologue about rain and bad luck.

The gay content is the whole point, obviously, but it's not romantic. It's transactional, rough, sometimes a little mean. The blonde guy, Angel, he's got this dead-eyed look in every pixel frame that makes you want to either protect him or ruin him. I never figured out which.

One thing that bugged me: the background music stops for a few seconds after every choice, like the game is reloading something. It's probably a browser thing. Never got fixed. Also the CYOA structure means you can't skip ahead, so replaying to see other paths means clicking through all the same rain descriptions again.
