You know what’s weird about Adventurer Trainer? It’s a Konosuba porn game that sometimes forgets it’s a porn game. I spent like forty minutes yesterday just doing guild paperwork. Actual paperwork. Dispatching adventurers, balancing quest difficulties, watching numbers go up. My dick was nowhere near my hand and I wasn’t even mad about it. The H-scenes are animated and honestly pretty good when you get to them, Megumin’s scenes have this chaotic energy that fits her perfectly, but the game keeps throwing these little RPG systems at you that are genuinely fun. Fishing minigame. Dungeon crawling with actual jRPG combat where you equip gear and level up. Who approved this? I came here to see Darkness get flustered and instead I’m optimizing my sword build.

The writing is where things get messy in that specific fan-parody way. 152k words is a lot of words. Some of them are great, the banter between characters captures that Konosuba rhythm where everyone’s an idiot but in different flavors. Yunyun gets way more content than I expected and her scenes are surprisingly tender for a game where you can also fuck Aqua while she complains about it. But then you hit dialogue trees where your choices matter except they don’t really, or you get a scene that just kind of ends without the payoff you were edging toward. 34 H-scenes sounds impressive until you realize some of them are locked behind weird progression gates and you’re grinding slimes for twenty minutes wondering if Rem’s route is even implemented yet. The non-linear sandbox thing means you can spend your day however you want, which is great until you accidentally trigger three events in the wrong order and the timeline makes no sense. Still, there’s something charming about a free fan game that’s this ambitious while being completely unpolished. The animations are smooth, the parody hits more than it misses, and I haven’t uninstalled it yet which says more than any compliment I could give.
