ok so the whole hunting trip thing is a total lie right from the jump. yoko from gurren lagann, that redhead with the rifle, she's not here for any animals. the game barely pretends otherwise. you get this little arcade style shooting minigame where targets pop up and you click them, but the framerate feels like it's running on a toaster and the hitboxes are kinda drunk. i spent way too long trying to figure out if the crosshair was off or if i just suck, never did get a clear answer. the sound design is just a few lo-fi bleeps and what sounds like a royalty free beat someone left running in the background, which honestly adds to the whole weird vibe.

then she just drops the act and the real gameplay is these puzzle segments to unlock the scenes. it's one of those slide tile things where you move pieces around to form the image, and the pictures are exactly what you'd expect. raw, explicit, no condom stuff. the art is that slightly off model anime parody style where her proportions get exaggerated to ridiculous levels during the acts. there's a specific scene where the animation loops in this jittery way that almost made me laugh but also, well, it does the job. the whole thing feels like it was coded in a weekend by someone who really, really likes yoko and just wanted to get to the point.

the weirdest part is how the game forgets its own premise halfway through. you're supposed to be outside, in a forest or whatever, but the backgrounds just become these abstract color blobs. maybe that's a metaphor for how tunnel visioned the whole thing is. it's not trying to be a good game, it's a delivery system for hentai of a specific character and it doesn't pretend otherwise. the gurren lagann parody tag is doing some heavy lifting since beyond her design and the rifle there's zero connection to the show's actual plot. no giant robots, no spiral power, just a very direct interpretation of what the creator thinks happens after the credits roll.
