The blood drinking in Darkness Revenge is actually the least of your problems. I spent twenty minutes in the character creator, which is more involved than it has any right to be for a game that will then spend the next three hours finding new ways to humiliate whatever protagonist I built. You pick male or female, and honestly the female route feels like the developers put 80% of their effort there, the degradation hits different, more personal somehow. The male path has this weird thing where you’re supposed to feel powerful but the story keeps putting you in situations where you’re clearly not, which I guess is the point of vampire politics but it just made me annoyed at my own character.

The animated scenes are rough, like someone learned Blender last month and decided yes, this is ready. But there’s something about the jank that makes the forced sex sequences more uncomfortable in a way I can’t tell if it’s intentional or not. The mind control stuff, you use it on a milf character early on and the game doesn’t let you forget what you did, it comes back in dialogue later which most porn games never bother with. The monster girl shows up in act two and I completely lost track of the revenge plot because the bondage scene with her went on for what felt like forever, not complaining exactly, but the pacing just dies there.

The blackmail subplot involves a lesbian couple and the choices branch in ways that made me reload saves more than I’d like to admit. One ending I got involved a gang bang that the game clearly thought was a bad ending but honestly seemed like the most narratively coherent outcome given all the decisions I’d made. The graphic violence tag isn’t joking around, there’s a scene with a vampire hunter that made me put my phone down for a minute, and I’ve played Corruption of Champions without flinching. The creampie scenes have this weird visual effect, like a filter that makes everything look wet in a way that reminds me of old Newgrounds flash games. I wish the anal content was better integrated instead of feeling tacked on to every sex scene like a checkbox. The group sex scenes suffer from the animation problems I mentioned, too many limbs clipping through bodies.
