War here doesn’t feel like some clean fantasy story. The first scene that really stuck with me is just you walking through Veskar after another attack, and there are these small quiet details that make it feel wrong in a good way. A toy half buried in ash. A vendor stall burned out but the tits on the wanted posters still staring back at you like nothing happened. The game keeps doing that rhythm, mixing brutal shit with horny stuff, and it kind of messes with your head. You play as Nathan, but I honestly forgot his name half the time because I kept renaming him to stupid things. He’s supposed to be one of the last of this powerful family, PTSD as hell, and the story actually takes that seriously at times. Then two minutes later you’re pressed up against a wall by a milf officer with armor that somehow has room for those huge curves but no space for a normal neckline. I liked that whiplash. I also hated it. It made some scenes feel extra dirty, like you’re getting off in between air raids.
The supernatural stuff takes over slowly. At first it’s just talk about elves and magic and this Empress who’s basically committing genocide, pretty standard. Then you start noticing that the monsters you fight are not just enemies, they’re potential lovers, or at least potential “shove your cock in this terrifying thing” moments. There’s this one monster girl with a body that looks soft and thick in all the right places, but her eyes are wrong and she moves like something out of a horror game on Steam that people speedrun on Twitch. You think you’re about to get a big heroic boss fight. Instead it turns into this weird trancey seduction where she’s half trying to eat you and half trying to ride you. I was kind of disturbed and also very into it. On Discord I told a friend “this game is fucked” and then I immediately loaded the quicksave just to see if the other dialogue choice changed how she moaned. It didn’t, which annoyed me way more than it should have, and I kept thinking about that single reused sound for like ten minutes while everything else was happening on screen, like the city falling apart and these mystical conspiracies piling up in the background.
Sex scenes are mostly slow burn at first. Lots of talking, sometimes too much talking, like a horny VN that wanted to be a mystery novel but got distracted by its own boobs. There’s a scene with a big ass elf woman interrogating you, and the camera keeps lingering on the way she crosses her legs, and it’s honestly hotter than some of the full nudity later. When the clothes finally come off, the bodies are thick, heavy, exaggerated in that way that makes you want to zoom in, which of course you can’t, and I kept trying to lean closer to the screen like that would help. The urban fantasy side keeps leaking in: fucking in half destroyed apartments, magical symbols glowing across pale skin while you’re pounding into her, monster claws digging into your back when you climax. It’s not “nice” sex, more like desperate and messy, like everyone knows they might get wiped out by a spell in the morning so they fuck like animals at night. I kind of wish the horror had more actual scares, but maybe it’s better this way, just this constant quiet dread under all the moaning. If you play, don’t rush through the scenes. Let the dialogue drag sometimes, stare at the background, read the way characters shift from soldier to slut and back. The hottest stuff happens in those tiny moments where you realize they’re as scared as you are and still spreading their legs anyway.
