You ever play one of those furry VNs that actually tries to freak you out instead of just being a fap delivery system? Intertwined is this weird horror/gay romance hybrid where your choices aren't so much choices as they are devotion points banking up in the background, silently shifting which scenes you'll get. Miss enough points and you literally won't see half the content. The game doesn't tell you this either. You just blunder through and later realize, oh, I completely biffed that run.

The transformation tags aren't what you think. There's no sudden werewolf bulge or anything. It's more that whole "becoming something other" vibe, the Transcendents being these chaos entities that wanna crawl inside your skin. You play a male protagonist dealing with some seriously grim shit, the game warns about death and suicide upfront, and it means it. One path had me genuinely unsettled, standing in a void while this entity spoke in fragments, promising knowledge if I let it close. The writing cracks open at these moments, all poetic and broken, and I got a half chub while also wanting to check my locks. That's a weird combo.

The stripping and exhibitionism stuff is there but sparse. One scene early on, you end up out of your clothes in front of this spectral audience, not by choice, and the CGs are these rough 2D sketches that look unfinished. Some people complained on the forums about the polish but honestly I think the scruffy art style adds to the nightmare fuel. It's like the game itself is coming apart while you play. The multiple endings branch so wildly that comparing notes with someone is pointless because their run probably unlocked entirely different horny moments. Or none. Wish there was a scene with more furries honestly, it's tagged but the monster designs are more abstract horror blobs than proper anthro, which bummed me out for five seconds until I realized the game was doing something else entirely. The romance is weirdly tender between all the decay, a kiss scene that feels earned, then two lines later you're being watched by something with too many eyes.

Anyway the devotion system reminds me of those old visual novels where you'd accidentally lock yourself out of routes and not know why, except here you might also miss the hottest scene because you didn't let the void entity lick your psyche enough times. Choices amplify the tension weird, like do I lean into this corruption because it's hot or resist because self preservation? Both get you laid but in such different flavors.
