Just Bros feels like someone smashed a horny Tumblr feed, a locker room fantasy and a kinda wholesome gay dating sim into one thing, then forgot to polish it and just said “yeah, that’s fine”. You start as this himbo-ish sports bro who claims he’s “not really looking for anything serious” while you get bombed with choices that scream “this is 100% serious”. One moment you’re sharing protein shakes and trash talk with your gym buddy, next moment you’re choosing if you wanna shove him against the showers wall or pretend nothing happened and go play basketball like your cock isn’t still hard. I liked how the game lets you be a bit of a dick or kind of sweet without making a big moral lesson out of it. You tell one guy you’re only in it for fun, then two scenes later you’re lowkey jealous seeing him talk to a barista with better arms than you. Also, I swear at some point I thought the coach was the dad of one of the dudes and I got ready for drama, but turns out I just mixed up sprites and now I can’t unsee it, so the hookups with him felt twice as fucked up in my brain for no reason at all.
What surprised me is how some routes feel like a real romance and then suddenly turn into pure porn in one scene, like they forgot to fade in slowly. You have this quiet night walk with the nerdy statistic guy from the sports club, he talks about injury anxiety, you pick the soft answers, it feels very “I’ll protect your heart bro”, then boom, next CG he’s on his knees in the locker room swallowing you like he’s late for class. It’s hot as hell, just funny how fast it flips. The muscle dudes look like they could bench press a car and still whine about text replies, which I love, even if sometimes the dialogue sounds like Google Translate had a stroke. There’s a route where a guy clearly wants to own you, like full top energy, calling you “good boy” and making you choose whether you kneel or talk back, and honestly that part carried the game for me. But then the next scene he sends the most basic “sup?” text and my horny brain just dies. Small thing that annoyed me: the game keeps throwing “bro” and “dude” every two lines, and at some point it stops sounding like straight-acting and starts feeling like Discord RP written by five different people. Still, that moment where you win a match, crowd cheering, and you sneak off with your rival behind the stadium, pin him to the fence and decide if you’ll kiss him slow or fuck the fight out of him, that stuck with me way more than it should.
