You ever play one of those Lesson of Passion joints and think, man, this is too much clicking, not enough actual weirdness? Sensual Haunting is like the opposite. It's a visual novel, barely any choices, just a straight shot of that specific brand of uncanny hentai storytelling. The plot is this dude Hans moves his wife Marin and daughter Elizabeth into a mansion. Classic setup. The wife and kid are all "this place is haunted" and Hans is like "nah, science" but the ghost is real. And horny. Not a scary ghost, a flirty one that wants to cop a feel.

The art is that early 2000s CG hentai style, the kind where everyone's skin looks like a plastic doll that's been left in the sun. It's technically bad but in a way that loops back around to being perfect for the material. The mom has these massive things that defy physics and the daughter... look, the family tag is there for a reason and it doesn't pretend otherwise. The ghost is this transparent blue dude who just kind of manifests and starts groping people while they're confused. There's a scene where the wife is taking a bath and the water starts moving on its own and she's making that face, you know the one, the "oh no I'm being pleasured by an invisible entity" face that's in every hentai ever. The sound design is basically royalty free spooky noises and wet slapping sounds.

The mystery tag is a lie though. There's no mystery. The ghost is there, he wants to bang, that's it. The horror is just the horror of watching these character models try to emote. I wish there was more actual haunting mechanics, like maybe a sanity meter or something, but no, it's just a linear slideshow. The mystical aspect is just "ghost magic hands." At one point the daughter is just walking down a hallway and a door opens and she's like "oh my" and then a spectral tongue just. You get it. It's the kind of game where the climax involves a full family ghost orgy and nobody questions the logistics. The writing is translated by someone who clearly gave up halfway through, sentences just trail off or repeat, and honestly that's more unsettling than anything intentional. Don't play this for the story, play it if you want to see a ghost man's blue hands on some impossibly shiny tits. The end. Or not, I don't remember if it even has one, I think I blacked out.
