You know what nobody talks about with Thief of Hearts? The inventory screen. Not the heists, not the planning board with its little string connections like some conspiracy theorist's wet dream. The inventory screen where you can examine stolen items and the protagonist just... holds them. Turns them over in his hands. There's this one jade figurine from the museum job, and the way the 3DCG lighting catches the curves, the weight of it in his palm. I spent maybe fifteen minutes just rotating that thing while the city skyline sat frozen outside the safehouse window. Completely pointless. Loved it.

The actual thieving is whatever. You pick locks, you sneak past guards, the usual. But the game knows why you're really here. It's that school setting that somehow morphs into these elaborate criminal operations, and the women. God, the women. There's this MILF character, your fence or handler or something, who does this thing where she "inspects" the goods you bring back. Leans over the table, big tits practically spilling onto the stolen diamonds, and the animation when she reaches past you. Slow. Deliberate. The teasing is so drawn out I started questioning my own life choices. And then there's the group sex scene after the casino heist. You, two of your crew members, and somehow your landlady shows up? The logistics make zero sense but the vaginal sex animation has this weight to it, bodies actually colliding instead of just clipping through each other like in lesser games.

The voyeurism mechanics are where things get properly unhinged. You can spy on basically everyone. Your sister in the shower. The neighbor changing. There's this whole incest subplot that the game never really acknowledges with any gravity, it's just... there. Like finding a used tissue in a library book. The stripping sequences are animated with way more care than the actual robbery gameplay, which tells you everything about priorities. The groping during the school segments feels mechanical after a while, press X to cop a feel, but then the handjob scene in the principal's office happens and suddenly the male protagonist's hands are trembling and there's this close-up on his face that's genuinely affecting. Contradicts the whole power fantasy thing. Makes you feel like a creep instead of a master thief.

The big ass physics deserve their own paragraph but I won't. Just know they're excessive. The masturbation scenes are oddly tender for a game about stealing things. And somewhere around the third heist I realized I'd stopped caring about the score entirely and was just trying to unlock more of the animated oral sex sequences. The game knows. It always knows.
