The whole thing feels like someone drew it on a napkin during a lunch break, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Charlie shows up at her uncle's place looking like she walked out of a 1980s beach poster, all blonde hair and proportions that make physics professors weep. Higgins is there too, but who cares about Higgins. The art has this rough, almost sketchy quality that somehow makes everything hotter, like finding a dirty doodle in the margins of someone's notebook.

The magnum joke lands immediately and never stops being funny. She's not just holding a big gun, she's really working with some serious hardware, if you catch my drift. The toys in this thing are absurd in the best way. There's this one scene where she's struggling with something that looks like it was designed by someone who hates furniture, and the expression on her face is pure gold. The detective parody angle is barely there, just enough to string the scenes together. You're not solving crimes, you're solving the mystery of how many ridiculous objects can fit where the sun doesn't shine.

Speaking of which, the localization choices are... something. Some dialogue reads like it was translated through three different languages and then back into English by someone who learned the language from old Magnum P.I. reruns. "I am detecting with my body" is an actual line. I think. I might have imagined it. The humor lands about sixty percent of the time, but when it misses, it misses into another dimension entirely. Still, you don't play something like this for the witty banter. You play it because Charlie's chest has its own gravitational field and the animators understood exactly what they were doing with every bounce and jiggle. The whole experience is like finding a VHS tape that shouldn't exist, and honestly, that's the sweet spot for this kind of thing.
