The paranormal stuff creeps in slow, a shadow that doesn't match any character model, and then suddenly you're fucking a ghost with proportions that defy the already questionable anatomy of the living cast. The incest thread is tangled through everything, unspoken but obvious, the way Matt's mom looks at him during the countdown scene. I kept clicking. The adventure elements are basically just walking between rooms, but one room had a monster with big tits and I laughed out loud. Not because it was funny. Because I was hard.

The special episode framing is thin. New Year's hats on characters who were just talking about societal collapse. The contrast is jarring in a way that loops back around to working. There's a moment where you can choose to go outside alone and the snow jpg is still there, still fake, but the silence before a tentacle thing appears actually landed. I forgot to mention the romance. It's there, I guess, if you squint. More like transactional affection with extra steps. The big ass tag delivers. Repeatedly. I'm still thinking about the aunt.

The xmas special for Monster Girl Gym, right. I was expecting something... I don't know, more. The whole base game is this weirdly compelling loop of training monster girls and getting lewd rewards, and this episode just drops you into a holiday dinner scene. You're the only dude, surrounded by these absolutely stacked creatures. The AI CG is hit or miss, some of the dinner table shots have that glossy, slightly off look where the turkey leg is merging with someone's bicep. But then there's this one render of the wolf girl stretching after the meal, her abs catching the fireplace light, and I forgot to breathe for a second.

The sandbox elements are stripped way back here. It's mostly clicking through dialogue and picking who to sit next to, which triggers different scenes. I spent way too long trying to angle the camera during the gift exchange because the bunny girl's outfit was doing this thing where the ribbon was the only thing holding it together and I needed to see if the physics would glitch. They didn't. Disappointing. The muscle definition on the oni is insane though, like she could crush my skull and I'd thank her. The romance paths feel rushed compared to the main game's gym progression, you don't earn the affection, it's just... there. Like microwaved leftovers instead of a slow roast.

There's a moment during the new year countdown where you can choose to sneak off with one of them. I picked the harpy, because wings and the way her back muscles flexed earlier during the toast, and the scene that followed was surprisingly tender for something so explicit. The writing stumbles over itself sometimes, typos here and there, but the core fantasy of being the only human in a room full of monster girls who are all inexplicably into you? That hits. Wish the special episode had more actual gym content though. The title is Monster Girl Gym and we're just eating dinner. Where's the holiday themed workout? Bench pressing a yeti or something.
