The Marvel universe getting the adult game treatment hits different than you'd expect, honestly. These marvel Hentai Games take characters everyone knows and throws them into situations that'd make Disney's lawyers work overtime. We're talking about seeing Spider-Gwen in positions that definitely aren't canon, Scarlet Witch doing things with her powers that weren't in any Avengers movie, and Black Widow finally living up to that whole seduction spy thing but like, actually going through with it. The gameplay varies wildly though. Some of these are basically visual novels where you're just clicking through dialogue trying to unlock the next scene with She-Hulk or whoever, which gets boring fast if the writing sucks. Others try to be actual games with combat systems or dating sim mechanics, and honestly those work better because at least you're doing something between the explicit parts. The art quality is all over the place too, ranging from professional looking stuff that could pass for official comic panels to... well, let's just say some artists should've practiced more before releasing their game.
What's weird is how these games handle the actual Marvel lore. Some developers clearly give a shit about the source material and write stories that could almost fit into the comics if you removed all the fucking. Others just slap familiar names on generic characters and call it a day. You'll find everything from elaborate plots involving Thanos and the Infinity Stones as an excuse for an orgy to simple scenarios like "what if the X-Men lived in a beach house and just banged constantly." The dating sim style ones where you play as a random guy (or sometimes a canon character) trying to hook up with various heroines tend to be the most popular. They'll have you doing fetch quests or training minigames to raise affection stats, which sounds tedious but somehow works when the reward is animated scenes of Captain Marvel or Gamora. Performance is usually fine since most run in browser, though the ones with tons of animation can lag on older machines. The replay value depends entirely on how many characters and scenes are packed in, because once you've seen everything there's not much reason to come back unless updates add more content.
