You know what gets me about Yellow County? The spanking. Not the murder mystery, not the dead parents, not the serial killer subplot that everyone keeps mentioning like it's supposed to be the main draw. It's the way this game handles a good over-the-knee session. There's this one scene with the older neighbor lady, the one who's been "comforting" you since the funeral. She's wearing this tight sundress and she bends over to pick up a dropped spoon or something stupid like that, and the animation just... lingers. The 3D models aren't winning any awards, they've got that slightly plastic look that screams mid-tier adult game, but whoever rigged the physics on the rear end knew exactly what they were doing. The way the fabric stretches, the subtle bounce when she stands back up. I spent maybe twenty minutes just replaying that one interaction, trying to see if different dialogue choices would trigger it again. They didn't. That's the thing about this game, it'll show you something genuinely hot and then just move on like nothing happened.

The groping mechanics are weirdly inconsistent. Sometimes you can cop a feel during a conversation and the character reacts with this breathy little gasp, other times it's like your hand clips right through them and nobody acknowledges it. The oral scenes are better, there's actual attention to detail there, the way the protagonist's hands rest on the back of a head, the eye contact. But then you'll get a vaginal sex scene that looks like two mannequins being pushed together by a bored animator. The teasing is where it shines though. There's a moment with the aunt character, she's sitting on the couch and her robe keeps slipping open, and she keeps fixing it while giving you this look. You can't do anything about it yet, the game gates progression behind story beats, but that tension is more effective than half the explicit content.

I wish the male protagonist wasn't so wooden. His face barely changes expression whether he's mourning his parents or getting a blowjob from the real estate agent. The romance path with the childhood friend is actually sweet, lots of slow build up, but then it rushes to the finish line and suddenly you're balls deep with zero transition. And for a game that supposedly has this whole murder investigation angle, I keep forgetting why I'm supposed to care. Something about corrupt cops? The news reports play on TVs in the background but I'm too busy trying to angle the camera up the yoga instructor's shorts during her morning routine.
