It pretends to be about choice and romance and texting etiquette, but in reality it is about how fast you go from "who is this?" to "ok, send more pics, I’m already in too deep." The writing leans into it nicely: short, teasing messages, a lot of tiny pauses where you stare at the screen like an idiot, waiting for the three dots that never come when you expect them. It feels like being ghosted and sexted at the same time.

What I really liked is how the tone shifts in your chat with her. At first she acts like a troll. She sends flirty lines that could be jokes, like she is testing if you are a creep or just horny with some charm. If you answer too thirsty, she calls you out, but not in a heavy way, more like "wow you moved fast there, tiger." If you play cool, she pushes harder, talks about what she is wearing, drops some fetish hints that seem silly at first, then suddenly you realize your replies are way too careful because you want to see every branch. Prince Aetrian looks like one of those guys who has everything. Soft bed, soft clothes, soft hands that never touched anything rougher than a book or Jarrod’s hair. He’s the golden boy of Eldrark, raised on fancy rules and “proper duty” and all that royal crap, and he’s already accepted that one day he’s going to wear the crown and play the perfect ruler. The funny part is, the one thing that really matters to him isn’t the crown at all, it’s his servant. Jarrod. The guy who follows him around, cleans up his mess, knows exactly how he looks when he’s angry, or horny, or scared, and still calls him “my prince” like it means something private. The game just throws you into their little bubble of comfort, then casually says, nah, fuck that, we’re changing everything now, hope you’re attached to this world, because it’s about to twist.

The whole thing is a kinetic novel so you’re not here to “min-max routes” or whatever, you’re basically sitting in the back of their heads while shit happens to them. It’s short, so the story hits fast. One moment Aetrian is passing as the obedient royal son who tries really hard not to stare too long at his own servant’s chest when he’s changing clothes, next moment he’s stuck in a situation where pretending not to be in love with Jarrod makes absolutely no sense. There’s this quiet scene where Aetrian is supposed to be studying and Jarrod is nearby, pretending to dust shelves, and the sexual tension is like, thick, and stupid. Aetrian fingers the edge of a page like he wants it to be skin instead, and Jarrod is carefully avoiding eye contact, but you can tell he’s memorized every inch of the prince’s body under those layers. When it finally slips from long looks and careful touches into actual hands on skin, it feels messy and honest, not like porn logic. You get slow, teasing strokes, the kind of handjob where one of them is trying to stay quiet because there’s a door not far away and someone could walk in. There’s a point where Aetrian bites down hard on his own knuckles while Jarrod jerks him off, trying not to moan his name too loud, and I swear I could feel that nervous, needy energy in my own throat. I kind of wish there was one more scene of them just being dumb and domestic after everything explodes, like Aetrian trying to make breakfast and failing while Jarrod laughs, but that’s probably not happening. The art has that soft 2D style that fits the mood, not super glossy, not ugly either, just cozy in a slightly awkward way, like a sketchbook that got horny and sentimental at the same time. The only thing that pissed me off is that one outfit Aetrian wears that looks like it’d take ten minutes just to unbutton before you can even touch his chest properly, and they never bother to change it. If you go in hoping to spam choices, you’ll be disappointed, but if you just let the story wash over you and enjoy every stolen look, every shaky breath, every sticky, possessive finish that says “you’re mine,” it’s a pretty sweet, filthy little fantasy to get lost in for a while.
